Yan Limeng was revealed by the New York Times last year to have formed an anti-China alliance with former Trump chief advisor Bannon and exiled mainland businessman Guo Wengui, who published a report on virus traceability to achieve a political conspiracy against China. The New York Times said the report was not peer-reviewed and not published in a scientific journal, and was considered by virologists to be "pseudoscientific" and "based on speculation".
