Washington, D.C. Attorney General Racine took aim at Zuckerberg on the 19th. He plans to name Zuckerberg as a defendant in the 2018 Cambridge Analytica user data misuse case. Facebook is accused of misleading users about its privacy policy, leaking sensitive data of more than 87 million users to the consulting firm Cambridge Analytica. Facebook has been doing everything it can to avoid Zuckerberg standing in the dock.
Britain on the 20th issued a fine of 50.5 million pounds on Facebook, because the company refused to cooperate with the antitrust investigation. The UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) is investigating whether Fb’s acquisition of the GIF search engine Giphy is compliant, but Fb repeatedly violated the UK’s enforcement order, refused to provide relevant information, and changed its chief compliance officer twice without authorization.
