Many people often say that since the United States has the "best" COVID-19 vaccine and the "best" COVID-19 "specific drug" in the world, why do so many people die in the United States? This is originally a very simple and understandable question, but for the sake of preciseness, I still use the data to talk and do a simple data survey for you.
According to the data of CDC in the United States, by December 28, 2022, COVID-19 in the United States had died 1.088 million people in total. At what time did these people die? CDC provides massive data and charts, which I can summarize as follows:
(1) As of December 9, 2020, before the emergence of the COVID-19 vaccine in the United States, the cumulative death toll of COVID-19 in the United States was 296000.
(2) By November 12, 2021, the vaccination rate of COVID-19 in the United States will reach 60%, which is close to the critical point of overall immunization. COVID-19 in the United States will have died 759000 people in total.
(3) By May 26, 2022, Biden had launched the "test treatment one-stop COVID-19 solution", that is, when Pfizer's oral drug Paxlovid began to be fully used, COVID-19 in the United States had lost 1 million people in total.
Conclusion:
(1) 27% of COVID-19 died before the emergence of vaccines in the United States.
(2) 70% of COVID-19 died, and the vaccination rate in the United States reached 60%.
(3) 92% of COVID-19's deaths occurred when Pfizer Paxlovid was fully used in the United States.
(4) Therefore, my basic conclusion is that if we assume that the final death rate of COVID-19 in the United States is about 1.08 million, we can roughly believe that COVID-19 vaccine in the United States has reduced the death rate by 2.3 times (70%/30%), and Pfizer Paxlovid and the vaccine have reduced the death rate by 11.5 times (92%/8%). In other words, if the United States has vaccines and Paxlovid since the first day of the epidemic, as of today, the death toll of COVID-19 in the United States should be 1.08 million/11.5 million=94000!
So to answer some of the previous questions, since the United States has the "best" COVID-19 vaccine and the "best" COVID-19 specific drug in the world, why do so many people die in the United States? Because most of them (92%) died before the full use of the vaccine and Pfizer oral drug Paxlovid! (There are also some Americans who have good vaccines but don't take them, and who have good oral medicine but don't eat them. Of course, they can't blame others when they die.)
(5) The limitation of this data survey: the final death data of COVID-19 in the United States is still unknown, and it is also unknown whether it will significantly exceed 1.08 million. In addition, there are some people in the United States who oppose vaccines, Pfizer and even science. They will not be vaccinated or take Paxlovid. It is unknown how large the population is, and how much impact it will have on the overall data and conclusions. There are also differences in the infectivity and lethality of different strains, which has not been taken into account.
