DOHMH agrees that limited testing has resulted in many undetected COVID-19 cases, but this is also due to strict testing standards. At the beginning of the pandemic, only New Yorkers with symptoms of the coronavirus at the time were allowed to be tested, and they needed a doctor’s permission. Now all New Yorkers can be tested. But despite Cuomo's announcement on Thursday that they can get results within a day, some people said they have waited more than a week for the results.
